A team of 5 Integr8 volunteers headed off to Guatemala today on their mission to make a difference in local communities through inspiring a spirit of inclusion. The team is lead by Marie, who in 2009 joined the first-ever trip to this, the second poorest country in Latin America. The 5 will work with 3 local Christian partners to spread the message that disabled children are equally valued and can be included in school, church and community activities. Philippa, who has been totally blind since birth and is an integral member of the team, was also on the 2009 trip and will share her faith and personal experience of disability in order to encourage others to be inclusive.
